Amanda Lee’s double drives in winning runs in 9th. inning Cascade's Ashley Edwards led off the bottom of the first inning by bouncing a deep drive off the top of the right field fence for a home run. North Marion survived two first inning errors without any further damage.
Cascade leadoff hitter Ashley Edwards homered in the Cougars’ first at bat.  Cascade’s Ashley Grucza (12) is out at the plate. A pitching duel ensued, as Elayna Van Hess would strike out 14 Husky batters, while Sam Pack fired 11 strikeouts at the Cougars, as neither team score over the next five innings.  North Marion’s Sam Pack had 11 strikeouts against 5 hits in the Husky win.
Cascade’s Elayna Van Hess struck out 14 North Marion batters while allowing 3 hits in the loss. In the top of the seventh, North Marion capitalized on two Cascade errors, and an obstruction call at third, to push Jenaya Surcamp across the plate with the tieing run.  North Marion’s Jenaya Surcamp (0) scores the game tieing run in the 7th. inning. Eighth ranked Cascade missed their opportunity for the win in the bottom of the seventh, when, despite loading the bases on 2 North Marion errors, Pack was able to get out of the jam, striking out Edwards for the last out. The eighth inning produced no runs, then in the top of the ninth, the Huskies capitalized on another Cougar error, and loaded the bases with no outs. Amanda Lee drove in two runs with a double.  North Marion’s Amanda Lee launches the game winning double. Cascade's Kassia Klagges reached base in the bottom of the ninth, and advanced to third, but was stranded there at game’s end. North Marion (3-0) moved to first place in the Capital Conference with a 2-0 league mark. Cascade (1-2) dropped to 1-1 after the first week of conference play.
