Waldron_ShaneOn February 12, 2009, the New England Patriots announced the promotion of Shane Waldron, a 1997 graduate of La Salle Prep, from offensive coaching assistant to tight ends coach. Next season will mark Waldron's fifth season with the New England Patriots (2002-04, 2008-09).

Between his stints with the Patriots, Waldron was a graduate assistant with the University of Notre Dame football coaching staff. Waldron spent the 2005, 2006 and 2007 seasons with Notre Dame.

Waldron was an offensive lineman on two of the most successful football teams in La Salle Prep's history.  The 1995 football team won the Tri-Valley League title and finished the regular season with a perfect 9-0 record. Waldron and the rest of the Falcons finished the 1996 season with an overall record of 9-2 after losing to Cascade in the second round of the OSAA playoffs. Waldron was also a four-year participant of the La Salle baseball program.

Waldron attended Tufts University in Medford, Mass., where he was a three-year starter and letterman as a tight end and deep snapper. He attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., in 1998 before earning a degree in economics from Tufts in 2002.

Founded in 1966 and sponsored by the Brothers of the Christian Schools, La Salle is a co-educational Catholic high school community, emphasizing rigorous college-preparatory curriculum and dedicated to a safe and loving environment.  Students are challenged to fulfill their spiritual, academic and social potential in order to meet the demands of an ever-changing society.  La Salle is especially committed to providing increased opportunities for economically marginalized youth.
