USA South Subdues Wiltjer's Canada 113-99Boys Basketball - Boys Basketball News Written by Don Francis Saturday, 07 August 2010 22:51 Hits: 436 Team USA South's P.J. Hairston put on a dazzling first half shooting exhibition to counter Canada's Khem Birch in a first half filled with rim rattling dunks, stuffs of would-be dunks and deadly shooting from several feet in back of even the NBA three point line. The frantic pace stunned the Canadian team who trailed 65-47 at the half and on this night the mojo never moved in their direction. Jesuit's Kyle Wiltjer had another solid performance with 15 points and 8 rebounds for Canada. In the other semifinal, steady play from USA Midwest kept INSEP (France) at bay the entire game to make it an all USA final tomorrow night at 8pm at Liberty High School in Hillsboro. These are two teams filled with players who will be taking their games to the NBA in a few years. Eden Prairie Eliminates Dr. Stewart’sBaseball - Baseball News Written by Andy Wooldridge (CCCougarfan) Tuesday, 17 August 2010 19:55 Hits: 320 Roseburg Legion Team’s Best Ever Run Comes Up Short Of Championship Game
Eden Prairie jumped out early and capitalized on errors by Doc’s in their 11-6 win in both teams’ first game in the tournament, and never trailed in the second meeting.
Eden Prairie took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning, but Doc’s answered, with a historic run, in the bottom of the inning. Brandon Jackson doubled, and Johnny Farrington singled to drive in Jackson, tieing the game, and scoring the 10,000 th. run in American Legion World Series history.

Southridge Hires Immel to Succeed MeekGirls Basketball - Girls Basketball News Written by Don Francis Tuesday, 31 August 2010 17:17 Hits: 641 Southridge made it official today after a lengthy search by hiring Dave Immel. Immel, who had served as assistant coach for six years on Michael Meek's staff before stepping down last season will have some big shoes to fill but clearly it seemed the right choice. Reports are he was hired for a one year contract on an 'interim' deal. He brings a familiarity to the program so look for the 'interim' moniker to disappear. Odds should be good he's in for 'the long haul." You’ll be hard pressed to point out the games where Sheldon hasn’t had the advantage at quarterback ever since the Brink brothers rolled through school in the late 90s/early 00s, but we’ve got one on our hands here. Panthers chew up Outlaws in season openerFootball - Football Recaps Written by Kirk Mays Monday, 06 September 2010 13:51 Hits: 1147
The Central Panthers got their brand new football stadium off to a great start this last Friday night, crushing the Sisters Outlaws, 56-14.
While the game started off looking like a typical first game of the season for both Central & Sisters, the Panthers quickly shook off the rust and started scoring at will against a hapless Sisters team. Canada Downs Team USA East In Double OT DandyBoys Basketball - Boys Basketball News Written by Cipole Friday, 06 August 2010 22:27 Hits: 516 Remember the name Khem Birch. All week long I'd circled names as budding NBA talent but didn't see his name coming. The USA East squad had two of the top ten high schoolers in the United States in James McAdoo and Rakeem Christmas but they couldn't hold off the better two bangers underneath, Jesuit's Kyle Wiltjer and Birch, who combined for 56 points and 38 rebounds to lead Team Canada to an exciting 105-100 double overtime thriller. Eaton ran the 400 meters in NCAA record time (46.28) for a decathlon, while also running 10.37 for 100m, 13.68 for the 110 HH, and long jumping 25-11. Oregon Teams Fare Well at OC's "Class of the Field"Girls Basketball - Girls Basketball News Written by Don Francis Sunday, 20 June 2010 17:53 Hits: 3947 A frolicking fun-filled Fathers Day Final with a frantic finish as Oregon City Black held off nemisis Clackamas 63-61 in the "Class of the Field"Championship Game. Leave it to the Three Rivers League duo to make the first statement to the Metro League and all the rest as high school basketball gives way to AAU teams. Many of the Sunday final games came down to final possessions. No better way for a father to spend a Fathers Day than watching their daughter on the floor. Some notes and observations from the past three days.
